Trolltech to Provide Qtopia-Based SDK for Native Application Development on Motorola’s MOTOMAGX Mobile Phone Platform
Trolltech today announced an expanded agreement with Motorola regarding the use of Qtopia Core as the native application development platform for Motorola’s MOTOMAGX Linux-based mobile phone platform.
As part of the agreement, Motorola will now distribute and promote a no-cost, native Linux Software Development Kit (SDK) based on Qtopia Core to their MOTODEV development community. In addition, Motorola will begin to allow native applications developed with the Qtopia-based SDK to run on a selection of upcoming MOTOMAGX-based phones.
MOTOMAGX is Motorola's Mobile Linux platform and is the next significant step in demonstrating Motorola's commitment and leadership in Mobile Linux. Building on the global success of Motorola's earlier Linux-based platforms, MOTOMAGX delivers new levels of openness, flexibility and support for third-party applications on Motorola devices. MOTOMAGX supports several different application environments, including Qtopia-based SDK for native Linux development and Java ME with WebUI.
