-Intellon Corporation, a leading provider of HomePlug-compatible integrated circuits (ICs) for high-speed communications over a home’s existing electrical wiring, announced that Russound has selected its HomePlug AV-based ICs for Russound’s new Avenue System.
Russound offers products and expertise customers need to enjoy complete audio and video systems throughout the home. Its Avenue System transmits audio signals to up to six zones over a home’s existing wiring. Based on Russound’s RNET PLC™ (Power Line Carrier) technology, the system uses Intellon’s HomePlug AV-based ICs to provide No New Wires® connectivity for quality audio streaming.
“For the first time, an installer can retro-fit a six-zone audio system in a fraction of the time that a similar installation requires,” said Walt Zerbe, Russound’s product manager, Emerging Technologies. “Intellon’s HomePlug-based solution provides ease-of-installation, which creates new opportunities where retro-fitting previously would have been prohibitive due to labor costs or disruptions to the homeowner.”
Russound’s existing RNET systems can be easily retro-fitted, thus avoiding the inconvenience of running new wires, making installation quick and easy for do-it-yourself homeowners and professional installers. RNET delivers intelligent audio features providing unsurpassed performance, faster installation and exceptional end-user satisfaction.
